Retainers, Advisor and Builder
The two monthly retainer products, what each includes, the contract terms that come with them, and how billing is scheduled.
Two retainer products, aimed at different problems. Both are flat monthly fees with no hourly billing and no timesheets.
Advisor
Advisor is the async-first strategic retainer. It is for teams that already have developers and need senior direction rather than more hands.
What it includes:
- A direct line to a senior engineer, not a queue.
- Four hours of senior advisory time each month, plus async support between those sessions.
- Half price on every productized service while the retainer is active.
Advisor deliberately does not promise implementation. If a piece of work needs building rather than deciding, it either goes through a productized service at the discounted rate or the conversation moves to Builder.
Terms: three-month minimum, then month to month. Start it from the Advisor intake form.
Builder
Builder is the delivery retainer, in three tiers. Tiers differ by engagement level, meaning how much work is in flight, how quickly you get priority, and how much availability you have. They do not differ by a promised feature count, and no tier promises a fixed number of features shipped per month.
- Builder Core: one focus area at a time. A single workstream is scoped each cycle and delivered against it. Weekly planning, async support, standard priority.
- Builder Plus: a continuous roadmap. Several workstreams in flight, re-prioritised with you as things ship. Twice-weekly sync, high priority.
- Builder Max: full product ownership. The whole roadmap, broadest scope, daily availability, top priority.
How scope is agreed each cycle is the subject of its own page: Scope and cycles.
Terms: Builder is a twelve-month engagement, billed bi-weekly for the first six months, then monthly. Start it from the Builder intake form.
Why bi-weekly then monthly
The first six months of a new engagement are where trust is still being built in both directions. A shorter billing cycle at the start means neither side is ever more than two weeks of work away from being square. Once the engagement has a track record, the admin overhead stops being worth it and billing moves to monthly.
Currency and invoicing
Prices are in euros. Invoices are issued against the schedule above, not against hours worked. The hour figures that appear in the project quoting model are an internal sizing basis, not something you are billed against.
