The Engagement
Preglife is a consumer-health pregnancy tracker. The product was live, but the Android app needed a rebuild — full re-design, from-scratch implementation, owned end-to-end by a single lead engineer. The engagement ran May 2014 to May 2015 (about a year).
What Shipped
- Re-design + ground-up Android rebuild — sole lead Android engineer, scratch to publish. One of the most interesting and complex designs Gabriel had implemented at the time.
- Material Design end-to-end — at a moment when most Play Store tracker apps were still on holo-era patterns.
- REST + Retrofit for the tracker / content backend; Crashlytics for observability; SCRUM cadence with the client.
